Destination Wedding in Aruba

aruba wedding venues Destination Wedding in ArubaValaya and Johnny wed on September 8th on the beautiful Caribbean island of Aruba.  They selected that locale because of the bride’s love of the area, “I went to Aruba on a girls-only vacation two years prior and I absolutely fell in love with the feel of the whole island.  The island motto is ‘One Happy Island’ and it is just that!  I’ve done some travelling before but this island stole my heart during my first visit.  When my husband and I talked about how we wanted our wedding to “feel” like, we agreed that we wanted a very private, low-key and family-like atmosphere.  We wanted our guests to feel like they were a part of one big family vacation so we chose a place that we would consider bringing our families to.”  In order to make it that much more intimate, the couple chose the Renaissance Resort on Renaissance Island as their wedding venue.  “We both decided on the Renaissance Island because of its privacy and it worked out great!  The boat ride to the island was fantastic and our guests had a blast just running through the water.”

To kick off the festivities, the couple sent this adorable map themed invitation to get guests excited about the adventure!

Beach Honeymoon Clothes

heart cutout bikini Beach Honeymoon Clothes{Heart Bikini: Kiskin}

Last week we covered how to cover up for your beach honeymoon and still look like that oh-so sexy blushing bride.  Today’s honeymoon attire is for a bride who is a tad more daring and loves the look of a bikini on the beach.  Show off with color, polka dots and even a heart shaped tan line on your bum with the bikini pictured above.  Layer your look with bangles, hats, a designer beach tote and a pair of wedges and you can walk right off the sand to a swanky lunch spot or cocktails at the magic hour.  Here are some of our favorites for this season’s beach honeymoon!  Ruffles, bright prints and even a toned down black and white look are all great gear to pack for your sunny honeymoon stay.

Black Honeymoon Beachware

Planning a tropical honeymoon to sit on the beach and sip fruity cocktails while you recover from all that dancing?  Sounds delightful! But what if you’re not the type to bare it all on the beach?  Have no fear, we’ve got a few sexy and not-so risque options to be a beautiful blushing bride in all black.

Ruffled Swimsuit: Love this low cut one piece by Zimmermann Glasshouse. With a lace trim crossover V neck and beaded straps that tie behind neck, this is a show stopper for a lady who doesn’t want to bare all in a bikini.

Sunglasses: Gotta love Gucci.  Inspired by Gucci’s iconic bamboo, these oversized square-frame sunglasses have tiny gold inserts to add to the detail and update the Audrey look.

Black and White Tote: The perfect staple for during and after the honeymoon is a tote by Hable Construction.  This bag is perfect for the beach, has a zip closure and plenty of room to pack as a carry on and for a day in sun.

Platform Sandals: Go nautical with these hot YSL wedges.  The suede sandals would look perfect with a pair of white shorts and a flowy black top or even your one piece bathing suit coming off the sand.

Cuff Bracelet: This heart shaped cuff by Eddie Borgo is the perfect accessory to dress up that cover up.

Black and White Bow Bikini: For a bikini that isn’t too tiny, consider this sweet bow-embellished black suit by Miu Miu.

Black Cover Up: For a crocheted cover up, this one takes the cake.  Vix created a tunic will show just a hint of your bikini or suit underneath and still show plenty of leg for maximum sun.Vix,

Black and White Cover Up: Day or night, this silk-chiffon maxi dress is the perfect piece to pack for your honeymoon.  Designed by Norma Kamali, this look can go from sand to sipping cocktails over lunch and even into the evening, depending how you dress it up or dress it down.
