Oyster Wedding Details

Whether you decide to serve oysters on the menu or not, if you’re hosting a destination wedding at the shore, then consider incorporating a few shells from the sea.  Oysters aren’t typically what we think of when we think about shell wedding details, but why not?  There is a pearl of beauty that goes with them!  Take a look at these creative ways to incorporate the idea into your event.  Hung from a chandelier, sugar pearls placed on a wedding cake, an illustration set on the invitation or a full oyster shell runner on your head table – these pretties are far more versatile than we once thought! …and a bit more unique than some other shells available to you on your big day.

When you think of a destination wedding in the traditional sense, you may have thought barefoot in the sand beach wedding.  Well, that’s not always the case – you could be jet setting to wine country in California or saying “I do” with the Eiffel Tower as your backdrop.  But should a more tropical locale be calling your name, there are creative ways to infuse the beach theme into your event with a bit more sophistication than just sand in a glass.  Shells typically make for affordable and theme appropriate decor, so today we’re pulling out a few ideas that may be a bit more unique than what you’re used to seeing for a beach wedding.  What about a shell chandelier?  Or a shell used as the vessel for your floral centerpieces?  A shell necklace or bouquet might just be in line with your bridal style!  Wherever you weave in these elements, remember – sometimes less is more.  Pick one or two key areas to bring in these elements and it won’t overpower your beautiful natural surroundings.

Consider forgoing florals all together and opt for an all shell centerpiece peppered with candles around it to light the mood.

For additional tabletop, you can use shells to enhance your centerpieces or fill up an otherwise simple candlelit area.
