Pantone Fall Fashion 2015: Wedding Inspiration

Pantone recently released their fashion color palette for Fall 2015. Inspired by “evolving landscapes”, this season’s palette features etherial tones of green, rust, and blue, and even some purple. Often times, wedding themes and color palettes are greatly inspired by the fashion world and its trends. Our personal favorites are “desert sage”, “stormy weather”, and “reflecting pond”. Desert sage, a soothing grayish-green can serve as a neutral tone that isn’t too in your face. Stormy weather, a fusion of gray and dark blue makes a bold statement color that offers sophistication and luxury. Lastly, reflecting pond provides a “sense of security and stability”.

When looking at the combination of these three colors, we instantly thought of a dark and gloomy, yet romantic, beach wedding. When one thinks of a “beach wedding” the first thing that usually comes to mind is a tropical destination. However, with the help of Pantone, we fell in love with the idea of having a darker, moody and oh so romantic wedding. After all, who says a beach wedding has to be tropical?

St. Patrick’s Day Wedding Weekend

This weekend is St. Patrick’s Day!  The holiday with a nod to the luck of the Irish, we’ve put together a few subtle ideas for a St. Patrick’s Day wedding weekend!  Whether you simply go green or you infuse a Celtic wedding tradition or two (like this handfasting of crossing wrists and hands with ribbon to symbolize the start of marriage – also known as “tying the knot”), or incorporating a clover for luck, a St. Patrick’s Day wedding is surely to be filled with love, luck and laughter!

A green accented wedding dress?!  Who would have thought it would look so chic, but wow!  Or perhaps pair your palette with more white or grey tones to please his sense of style.  The beauty of a green color story is that he’s likely to feel a bit more comfortable with the idea than those pops of pink or purple you may have at one time considered.  A great way to compromise on style and design but create a visual story rich is culture and creativity!

Coral and Green Weddings

Coral and green – two perfect colors to blend together for a destination wedding (and colors you may already be finding in your natural location setting).  From succulents to high grass fields, and even greener ocean waters, the shades of green vary dramatically but give you plenty of range to work with until you find a hue that’s just right for you.  And how perfect is a palette of coral paired with your greener base?  Some shades of coral even fit within the scope of the 2012 Pantone color of the year, Tangerine Tango.  With a hint of pink, plenty of orange contrast and lots of lovely peach tones, coral is a lovely color for a destination wedding.  If yours is a beach wedding, then pull coral inspiration straight from the sea and embellish your tables accordingly!   Then from coral bridesmaid dresses to green bouquets and napkin treatments, the options are endless for adding color to your destination wedding!coral and green weddings
