Destination Wedding Getaway Ideas

Your wedding reception getaway is a great photo op, regardless of where you wed.  Sparklers, tossed petals, even fireworks make a grand finale as you say good night to your guests.  But when you’re having a destination wedding, your options can get a bit more adventuresome.  Saying “I do” in Venice?  Why not enter and exit via gondola or private boat?  Getting married in a big city?  Then a black and white checkered taxi might be in order!

If your location is a bit more rustic and you’ve got lots of land around you, why not say adieu by bike (adorned with all the “Just Married” trimmings of course)!

Going overseas for your wedding?  Run away in a tuk-tuk in India or Asia…

Or perhaps a less motorized three-wheeled rickshaw getaway could be in order.

And of course, the moped.  The perfect summer getaway vehicle in small towns and islands across the globe.

But don’t forget about the boat option!  Sail away by yacht, paddle past guests in your row boat, or simply walk the dock to your beachside honeymoon suite if you’re not too far from your final destination.  And last, but certainly not least, for outdoors-type, consider running away on horse, but this is no runaway bride photo!  If you’re given the opportunity to make a lasting impression with your getaway, the photos will be priceless and it’s one last chance to surprise your guests as you bid them farewell!
