Katlhyn and Felipe celebrated their destination wedding in Riviera Maya, Mexico at Secret Jewel Celebrations, a property they found on a scouting trip with wedding planner, Ilse Diamant of Diamant Events, who gave us the scoop on this beach wedding weekend.
They wanted a private location. Non-resort area. Unique and where they could have a real party up until 2am.
Felipe and Kathlyn took a trip down to Riviera Maya almost one year before the wedding to check out venues, and when they came to the secret jewel celebrations venue the excitement and happiness they expressed was beyond words. As they had found their magical place where friends and family from Atlanta and Colombia would have the time of their lives.
The venue was perfect. However I really think that its important for bride and groom to now that Riviera Maya is a natural area and that even if you fumigate for mosquitos its the jungle and extra organic bug repellent is always a great idea.
It was vintage and blush, perfect for our Designer Gabi Lavor really understood everything that Kat wanted from the entrance, to ceremony , to cocktail area to reception.
I love little details and I knew Kat was getting so many things from the antique shops, and vintage beautiful items, that I got a cart to have some stuff on it and also we made a corner for her postcards that she used as her signature book. She just gave me all her treasures and said put them nice together, and yes we really did a nice job.
Kath works at an event design company in Atlanta, and that did make me more perfectionist than the usual so with everything she gave us for little signs and details everywhere I just had to make it double perfect. So with out telling her I got more signs, and things to complete her unique details. And it really stands out. I’m so happy we made that call.
Katlhyn and Felipe couldn’t be more in love. Helping them plan and coordinate the wedding of their dreams was an absolute dream for me. He was so intense and passionate about music, she was so passionate about little details, in decor and happenings, so everyone could have an amazing experience. This was truly an amazing wedding with the best of both worlds. Sexy latin music and delicious food, guests and family danced the night away. I remember Felipe saying to Kat, your part of the family will go to the hotel early, my Colombian side will keep on dancing all night long. And boy was he for a surprise as BOTH sides of the family kept the party going long after midnight. It was an amazing night filled with love.
Congratulations to the newlyweds!
