Jen and Kyle hosted a domestic destination wedding in Key West, Florida. They picked this location because of its special meaning to them. Jen shared with us, “Our first vacation together in June 2010 was to Key West and it has been our favorite place ever since. We knew right away we would want to have our wedding there and we were so touched by how many of our family and friends made the trip to celebrate with us.”
Jen wore orchids in her hair and carried a delicate white bridal bouquet. “My something old, borrowed and blue was my great grandmother’s diamond & saphire bracelet.”
Each sweet detail infused the nautical theme of this event, right down to the jewelry noting their wedding date!
Pillow accents made for great pops of the theme throughout the event while Kyle’s tie and suit matched the palette perfectly.
The inspiration for this event wasn’t just the sea that surrounded them but the colors too. “I just wanted everything to be navy & white, very crisp! Everything was nautical inspired so the knots, navy & white color scheme, stripes, lanterns and pillows in the lounge area had a nautical feel.”
They selected Ocean Key Resort for their ceremony and their Sunset Pier Restaurant for the reception. The beautiful outdoor ceremony was a match made in heaven as a catamaran passed by in time for photos.
After the “I do’s” the couple took some time to stroll about in Key West.
To prep for the reception details, Jen spent some time shopping on Etsy before the big day. “The knots and table numbers were from different etsy designers. I also found our sign in “book” from etsy as well.”
We adore these details!! Sailboat escort cards, lantern table decor, and a completely creative fish inspired guest “book” or framed poster as it was. Such a fun way to kick off the reception!
Then as guests got seated, they noticed the “knots” holding up the perfectly paired table numbers.
Matching striped linens and crisp white chairs finished off this fabulous look!
And good times were had by all!
After the sunset, guests danced the night away before being treated to a starfish topped wedding cake!
