Glam Beach Wedding in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Amanda and Anthony tied the knot at a gorgeous destination wedding in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where they landed after traveling from their home in Chicago (a city that actually helped bring them together when the bride met then moved in next door to her groom).

Once the pair were engaged, they planned a trip to Puerto Vallarta to scout potential wedding venues. Amanda tells us a bit about their story: I have been going to Puerto Vallarta with my family for 20 years now, so I was extremely excited to show him my favorite places and to explore the possibility of having our wedding there. When we got to PV, Anthony fell just as in love with the town as I already was. We looked at several options and in the end he chose the same resort I had been going to since I was a child, Club Regina, as our venue. We came home from the trip and knew in our hearts that we had found our perfect wedding venue for several reasons.

I have always dreamed about an outdoor beach wedding, and after seeing a few wedding plans ruined with the weather in the mid-west, I knew an outdoor wedding in Mexico would be fool proof. The other extremely important thing for us was to choose a location that was accessible for our friends and family, as we wanted to be able to invite everyone on our list, regardless of location.

Once the venue was chosen, I reached out to Kristin of Dazzling Details. In providing Kristin with my vision of our big day, I also let her know we were expecting upwards of 150 people. Kristin advised me to also engage Priscilla of Prisar Eventos as our wedding planner. Once the all-star team was in place I began dreaming up my vision of the perfect wedding.

Perfection in my mind was modern yet romantic, on the beach, and with as many chandeliers as you can imagine! Since I had not yet met Kristin or Priscilla in person, we planned a “girls trip” (aka Bachelorette party #1) down to Puerto Vallarta. The trip included my MOH and our moms (who are also best friends). On the planning trip we narrowed down many of the key details including the use of metallic colors, ghost chairs, a Michigan State University themed step and repeat, a donkey, fireworks, after dinner snacks, tequila tasting, cigar bar and many other amazing details.

The theme of the wedding was also set as “All you need is Love and the Beach” which was incorporated from the invitations and the wedding gifts, to the pillows at the wedding and the after dinner churro snack bags. The day was truly perfection and the best day of our lives, so far!
