Maura and Dan wed in the beautiful country of Costa Rica just outside of Tamarindo. The couple hailed from Connecticut to host a destination wedding at the oceanfront Langosta Beach Club surrounded by friends and family.
The groom designed all the paper goods for the wedding, including the save the date, invitation, and wedding program that doubled as a fan. What talent!
The groom is also an avid soccer player, so his socks had to represent accordingly on the wedding day!
Wedding photographers, A Brit & A Blonde shared some of the unique details with us and one of those details was Maura’s beautiful hair. “Maura’s amazing hair was destination wedding perfect. A sweet loose braid with an amazing hair brooch to give it a vintage touch. After the ceremony she did a hair change and added a hairband that actually was a belt that she found at Anthropologie and she magically changed it up to a hairband. Genius. Loved it.”
To kick off the wedding day festivities this couple even held a yoga session the morning of the big day, all led by the bride’s aunt. After that, the relaxed pair hit the waves and surfed together before getting ready for their beach ceremony.
The ceremony set in front of the stunning ocean view, was flanked with wooden benches for guests and bamboo polls and streamers to mark the spot where the couple said “I do.”
“Some of their family members were not able to be there, and so they had a memory table with their photos.”
“Their wedding reception was full of personal touches they brought from home. The summer before their wedding, Maura and Dan along with their families had gathered seashells together. The memories from that day were so wonderful – that they transported these seashells with them to Costa Rica to use them as their seating place cards.”
“Beautiful roses lined the long tables and MR. & MRS lettering let everyone know where Maura and Dan would be sitting.”
The couple even created their own DIY photo booth complete with destination wedding appropriate props!
And for dessert? A cake adorned with soccer player figure and ballerina of course!
