Montana Day After Wedding Photo Shoot

field weddings montanaToday’s feature is actually not a wedding, but an unusual day after destination shoot.  Scott and Maddie had a hometown wedding in Orange County, CA.  But the day proved not to be the most sunny in Southern California.  The gloomy weather and rain made it a less than perfect place for their bridal and wedding portraits when the time came.  And thus, a day after photo session idea was born!  But it wasn’t exactly “day after”.winter weddings in MontanaThese lucky newlyweds had a photographer in the family.  Tyler Branch is the groom’s brother so a little over a month later when the family went on a holiday trip to Montana to their family home in Helena, the bride and groom packed up their wedding day duds too!  Maddie vacuum sealed her dress and packed it away in her luggage and the end result was a destination “day after” or month after, shoot that this happy couple will never forget!  Sometimes a little rain on the wedding day can be a big gift in hindsight and these two have some amazing photos to show for it.

Congratulations newlyweds!

Destination Wedding in Montana

montana lake weddingsToday’s destination wedding comes from the small lakeside town of Bigfork, Montana – a favorite among fishermen and lovers of the great outdoors.  Brett and Erin live in Los Angeles, but landed on this lakeside locale for their less than traditional “I do’s”.  The beautiful ceremony full of blue hues, purples and whites took place near a dock at Flathead Lake (famous for being the largest natural freshwater lake west of the Mississippi).  And for the reception, guests moved inside to the quaint the Swan River Inn.purple and white weddingsWe actually received this event from the wedding videographer, Blueberry Fusion.  They created a festive and playful recap of the event that even pokes a little fun at the groom.  See, the bride used to nickname her former suitors and Brett was no exception.  But during a toast at the reception, he was given his true name back as he became an official member of their family.

Later the groom paid tribute to his bride in his own way.  Brett is a musician (and actually how he met his bride), so it was only fitting that during the reception he serenaded Erin with a song!  purple weddings When all the festivities were said and done, the couple gave guests meaningful wedding favors.  Brett and Erin chose to donate on behalf of their guests to a school in Africa that is close to Erin’s heart.  In fact, on a recent trip there, she, with the help of one of her bridesmaids started that school!  So it was a perfect gift to give friends and family (and the kids so far away) on such a special day.punk rock wedding
