Paris Wedding Vow Renewal

Mary and TJ had a very special day in mind when they set out on their destination getaway.  A vow renewal!  The intimate event included just one very special guest – their daughter Scarlett!  Celebrating ten years of marriage, the lovely pair planned a trip to Paris (their favorite city) where Mary would don a fabulous black wedding dress by Vera Wang.

With destination wedding photographer Rochelle Cheever in tow, the family spent plenty of quality time together captured all on film.  “We met her during a trip to Rome and three years and three cities later, she’s practically part of our family.”

“We did a private reading of letters–just the three of us–in one of whimsical hot air balloon canopies in the Saint James’ garden.”

“We spent the earlier part of the day visiting the sites together as documented by Rochelle. Of course, the carousel was, by far, Scarlett’s favorite stop along the way. But the Eiffel Tower brought out a little Eloise in her as well.”

Bastille Day Weddings

Every July 14, France celebrates Bastille Day! Bastille Day is similar to the 4th of July due to the history, colors and the celebration activities including fireworks, good food, and dancing! To refresh your memory, Bastille Day is the first major event of The French Revolution, the day commemorates the storming of the Bastille Prison which took place in 1789. In Paris they celebrate by fireworks, a large parade on the Champs-Elses, and a giant dance party on the eve of the holiday. Incorporate the Bastille festivities by using blue, white, and red accents into your wedding cake or decorate your tables with little Eiffel Towers and of course cheese on baguettes! Top the night off with a dance celebration just like the eve of Bastille Day!

French Lace Inspired Weddings

Oh La La, planning a wedding in France? What better way to honor this beautiful and influentially fashionable country than by incorporating French Lace into your designs?!

Spreading from fashion and accessories to décor and interior design, French lace has been a very prominent fabric used in the Parisian lifestyle (and wedding dresses worldwide). Solstiss (the makers of Princess Kate’s bridal lace) really knew what they were doing when they fabricated this textile. Stopping in a café for a croissant or a macaroon? You will most likely see a French lace tablecloth or maybe some beautifully designed curtains. This ornate, yet delicate fabric is the perfect trademark for such a beautiful culture – and your wedding day too! You can incorporate this lovely detail into your wedding in many ways – lace décor pieces add the perfect contrast to a black and white photo or a crystal chandelier. You could even match a lovely pair of intricate heels to add that perfect touch to your lace gown.

Want to feel like a real Parisian? French lace could be your way. Wow your guests with creative use of the lace in non-expected places and add texture and layers not only to your look, but your ceremony and reception too!

Destination Wedding in Poitou-Charente, France

country wedding in france Destination Wedding in Poitou Charente, FranceLooking for a truly international wedding? Well look no further, today we give you wedding decor from two continents, a couple with roots in three and a guest list that spans four. Today’s South African bride, Mariette, and French-American groom, Benjamin, live in Egypt but wed at a countryside family vacation home in France, dripping in vines and fruits (Swoon) that will truly have you dreaming. The couple incorporated and infused their cultures into every detail, from the handmade decor, to the diverse dinner spread, to the flowers, flown in from South Africa and paired with local wildflowers. Romance, color and the European feel well all know (and envy) was what this destination wedding from David Blair Photography was all about.pink and white bridal bouquet Destination Wedding in Poitou Charente, France

We made and prepared everything ourselves. The day of the wedding many of our friends spread out through the countryside gathering wildflowers to add to the handmade decorations. It was a week long celebration where many of the guests contributed.mason jar wedding details Destination Wedding in Poitou Charente, France

French Countryside Weddings

Lately I find myself daydreaming more and more about the many beautiful sides of France.  From fashion-forward city nuptials to countryside outdoor affairs – all seem to have such depth and character in the design.  So as we continue our jaunt through French inspiration, I thought I’d share a few French countryside destination wedding ideas.  Considering the Loire Valley?  The garden of France!  Then consider using lots and lots of lavender, think cheese cloth and other unique fabric textures, rustic wood pieces and wildflowers in abundance to create this air of casual elegance outside in a French field.  And while the Eiffel Tower might be a city monument, age it with a vintage postcard and it fits in quite nicely with the tone of these events. Je l’aime!

French City Weddings

Why does Paris just seem to scream for a formal and fabulous wedding?  Today we’re off to Europe to take a look at city weddings in France and all that France has to offer destination wedding couples.  A wedding in Paris can mean many things, but today think chunky and rich gold paired with the soft pink petals of roses.  Or how about a black and white Marie Antoinette themed event?  French wedding veil and black tie clad groom?  Check!  Faberge eggs on the decor menu?  Check!  How about Laduree macarons on the dessert menu?  Yum!  A fancy French fete is one destination wedding your guests and you won’t soon forget!

Paris Honeymoon Photo Shoot

Today’s photo comes just steps away from the Seine, where Olivier Lalin from WeddingLight, captured this gorgeous couple for their honeymoon photos in Paris!  Gabriella and Park traveled from Seoul to Paris and captured it all on film.  “Paris is the most romantic place on earth to share your love.”  Olivier shared with us.  So from Hotel Meurice to Pont Neuf, the Louvre, and Pace de la Concorde, the trio walked the city and the sights for some spectacular honeymoon photos.Wedding portraits paris1 Paris Honeymoon Photo Shoot
