A Tropical Elopement at the Four Seasons Bora Bora

Candice and Rod
said “I do” in an intimate elopement in picturesque Bora Bora. The couple found their location on Pinterest and shared with us a little about their experience tying the knot at the Four Seasons Bora Bora.

Most memorable moment during that day?

It was pouring during the time we were getting ready for the ceremony but the second Candice walked down the aisle the rain had stopped & we were left with a dramatic gray and blue sky, which was absolutely beautiful.

It was a dream destination for us & even more beautiful than we had imagined.

Our ceremony was everything we had hoped for.

Everyone we worked with made the process extremely easy and manageable. I worked with Samule, Virginie and Heimiti for close to a year and they were always there to answer any questions I had and provide amazing suggestions.

Congratulations to the newlyweds!

A Fashionable Paris Elopement

Anja and Mike elopement in the city of love – Paris! This fashion-forward and fabulously intimate fete included just the two of them. We asked Anja to share a little bit about their intimate destination wedding experience.

It’s been my dream when the that time comes, I would like it to be in one of the most romantic places on this planet and no question that Paris fits the bill. Mind you how fortunate I am that my husband now agreed 100%. And, as we looked at some of the photos we both fell in love with the river Seine as the official place for our ceremony with Notre Dame as backdrop because it was solemn and magical at the same time.

My dress was designed and created by my talented brother, Robert Dimacali. He and I collaborated on the final design after 5 other designs to choose from. After much thought, I would want the color of the dress to blend with my husbands tuxedo and knowing that winter in Paris will be a bit gloomy, satin grey fabric would be ideal accented by lace, rhinestones and red sequence. I did not want the color to be the main focal point, but to simply blend as a whole.

Favorite moments for the couple?

When we exchanged vows, it was truly special.

Our elopement/destination wedding was somehow incorporated into our pre-planned holiday vacation. We started communicating with Laura Montorio, our Officiant extraordinaire, 3 months prior to the established date and so I was a bit nervous how it will turnout as anyone would, since we planned it in a short period of time. I must say that after my initial contact with Laura I knew that things will go smoothly. She was patient, meticulous, engaging and thoughtful. She and her husband Pierre who was our photographer put us both at ease. Like they say, it’s either you have it or you don’t. They are meant to be in this business. Kudos to both of them! After everything, I believe we gained new friends.

My advise to other destination wedding couples, have a few ideas in mind on how you would like the day should be but be open to suggestions. You will be surprised that collaborating with your coordinator/officiant will truly make it very special because there will parts of it is from your input and some parts that makes it extra special because it was suggested by your coordinator/officiant who got to know you even in a short period of time. After she is the subject matter expert :)

A Wedding Event with a Sign that Says it All

destination-wedding-locationssan-diego-wedding-invitations

This event was actually not a real wedding, but a wedding event for event professionals to get a sense of a special property and all the design ideas that could be dreamed up here! Last year we got to spend some time in Rancho Santa Fe (North County San Diego, CA) at The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe, where these decor trends dazzled us, especially the sign!  If you’re looking for a domestic destination wedding location and some design inspiration in a city where it’s almost always sunny, then be sure to stop and see The Inn and you’ll discover a little hidden magic in this Southern California spot.

Vintage Style Elopement in Austria

Happy New Year to all our newly engaged friends and our longtime loyal readers too! We hope you had a wonderful holiday season filled with lots of love, family and travel! To kick off the new year, we’re looking ahead by actually looking back at a few of our favorite events from this past year. You’ll see some of the our biggest event inspiration this week and next to hopefully inspire your big day abroad too. We’ll even show you a few parties from the fall you’ve never seen before with ideas and trends for 2018, ideal for a destination wedding like yours!

So without further ado, Georgiana and Stefan eloped in Austria, three years after their first wedding! She is from Romania he is from Austria. They met in Bucharest and originally wed in Romania before deciding to do it all over again years later, just the way they wanted to. The location they selected may look familiar, Schloss Leopoldskron in Salzburg, a spot used in the film The Sound of Music!

Georgiana shared a little bit of the behind the scenes from their second big day with us:

It was definitely strange after almost 3 years to put my wedding dress back on to see each other like this again but it felt absolutely wonderful – magical really. Since it was just the 2 of us it was more intimate than with an entire wedding party. We had plenty of time just for us and with Claudia our photographer. We were able to do all the things we didn’t have time at our first wedding. It was a real luxury. A full day just for the two of us.

I really trusted Stephanie my wedding planner to come up with a perfect colour theme. I love opulent décor mixed with a contemporary feel so the grey was a nice and balancing touch.

The Rolls Royce was a real treat. The driver took us around the lake and we really felt like superstars.

Congratulations to the newlyweds!
