Nicaragua Elopement on a Boat

Nicaragua wedding

Ashley and Ted decided on an elopement for two in San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua.   The couple enlisted Katie Nugent Photography to capture the intimate big day and part of that experience was enjoying a little beach time before boarding the boat that would be their wedding location.

The couple kept it very carefree – the bride even did her own hair and makeup and picked flowers from the garden where they were staying to carry with her on the wedding day.

The sunset ceremony was sweet and sentimental as the pair said I do over the ocean before enjoying a dinner complete with champagne on the sailboat’s deck.

They also spent some time in town, getting to know the locals while wondering in their wedding attire.  Many well wishes were given from passerbyers!

Nicaragua Destination Wedding

nicaragua weddings

With a strong familial and cultural background, Adriana wanted nothing other than to celebrate her wedding day with her entire extended family. Lucky for her, her groom Nathan and all the intended guests, this meant a venture to the beautiful beaches of Nicaragua where most of Adriana’s family resides. The chosen spot in paradise for their destination wedding, specifically, was San Juan del Sur, a colorful and eclectic beach town on the southern coast, where you can find sparkling waters in one direction and lush mountains just opposite.nicaragua destination weddings

Guests stayed at the Villas de Palermo, also the reception site, where they found themselves with their very own terra cotta villa on one of the town’s mountainsides.

They brought a hint of the surrounding greenery to the sand, along with pops of fuchsia orchids to represent the vibrance of the country.tropical wedding ceremonyThe newlyweds and their guests headed back to Villas de Palermo’s club and pool for their reception. It’s no secret that Adriana and Nathan’s guests know how to have a good time at a wedding! With the band at the helm, guests partied all night, breaking out masks and other party props around midnight and celebrating long tent ideasThe dancing took a brief intermission for an unbelievable surprise fireworks show, coordinated by Adriana’s mom. As you can see this wedding was bursting, literally, with vibrance and excitement, culture and color… the perfect elements for a destination affair if you ask us! firework weddings
