Adriana and Phil held their destination wedding in the Caribbean, a place they held dear in their hearts. Adriana shared with us the details and ideas behind their big day. “Turks & Caicos was our first “away” vacation together. We loved the intimate and private setting, not to mention the pristine beaches and boutique hotels. Phil & I shared so many wonderful memories here and wanted to share this paradise with our loved ones.”
“Phil and I were introduced by his cousin Vinny :) My sister and Vinny had been friends for over 7 years. Somehow Phil and I had never met… until I hosted a party for my sister’s birthday on the rooftop of our Williamsburg, Brooklyn apt. Vinny dragged Phil (literally as he was hung over from the night before!) and 4 years later Phil got on one knee on the rooftop of our Upper West Side New York City apt!”
After the proposal and wedding planning, the pair said “I do” on the beautiful beach in Turks & Caicos. The day was beautiful but not everything went according to plan…almost everything!

We asked the bride about her inspiration for the design and decor of the day. “After hours of endless research online, I realized 2 things, 1) I did not want the typical wedding (e.g. as viewed in “Martha Stewart”, the knot, on pinterest, etc) and 2) I did not want a typical island wedding color scheme. I love deep purples, which you do not typically see for island weddings, and blues and thought the pop of color against the beautiful turquoise ocean and perfectly light sand would be breathtaking.”
“With our busy schedules and considering the distance, we knew we needed assistance. When deciding on a wedding planner, the Gansevoort highly recommended Teresa, from Tropical DMC. Not only was Teresa extremely patient (I must of changed my mind 10 times on decor!), she was meticulous, thorough, extremely creative, very attentive to detail and so easy to work with. We were beyond impressed with all the vendor recommendations.”
